Accepting clients ages 18-65 for psychiatric consultation and evaluation, individual psychotherapy, and/or medication management. our goal is to advocate for patients who struggle with mental illness to manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, a non-judgemental approach, and focus on holistic care.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina treating ages 15+. I spent a large part of my training working in specialty units in hospitals and understand that when a client makes an appointment, it is usually after a tremendous amount of self reflection. It takes courage and strength to speak to a professional while sharing your deepest thoughts. Dr. Carnetha Simmons has been practicing as a board certified Adult, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, for over 14 years. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, and completed her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent Fellowship at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina.

My background includes child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry and I treat a broad range of psychiatric disorders. Dr. Reid is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She completed medical school at the University of South Carolina and Residency in Psychiatry at University of North Carolina Hospitals. Dr. Reid feels that the field of Psychiatry is unique in that it requires a collaborative, whole person approach to Medical care. She has always enjoyed this aspect of being a Psychiatrist, spending time getting to know patients, unfolding and understanding together the complex interplay of medical and Psychosocial events that create the symptoms we focus on in treatment.

I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, diagnostic studies, and individual treatment recommendations for clients ranging from teens to older adulthood. My prior work in primary care, psychiatric residency training, and current experience at the Cedar Oaks Clinic has allowed me to work with adolescents, young adults, older adults, and veterans to manage a variety of psychiatric conditions.

Holistic treatments can be anything from exercise, to learning habit stacking, to sleep hygiene. So many factors that contribute to our mental wellbeing - treating my patients with attention to these details optimizes outcomes.

I am a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist in private practice in Asheville, NC and on faculty at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, CT. I provide therapy as well as medication management, when necessary. The primary modalities I use with clients are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. One of my biggest passions is providing excellent resources to supplement therapy, so clients feel well-versed in their treatment and realize they are not the only ones going through these struggles.
