Hi, I am Kyle (he/him/his) and I am a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have been a mental health nurse for over 20 years and have worked in numerous health care settings. My approach to care is greatly informed by my nursing background and the healing power of an affirming, collaborative relationship. I aim to provide holistic, person-centered care utilizing trauma informed, anti-oppressive, and harm reduction approaches. I offer both psychotherapy and medication management. I believe medication can be a helpful tool to turn down the dial of distress so that we can better access our capacity to heal.

As a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist, I help emerging adults, young professionals, and high functioning adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and unresolved trauma connect with their emotions, navigate life transitions, and feel more fulfilled. I offer a holistic approach to medication management as well as a specialized approach to treatment that may involve weekly or biweekly psychodynamic psychotherapy with the thoughtful consideration of medication treatment. I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist. Trained in psychiatry and behavioral science at Northwestern and Stanford Universities, I am licensed in both Illinois and California. I have completed advanced training in psychotherapy at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute.

I am a board certified adult, child & adolescent psychiatrist. I completed medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago, a general (adult) psychiatry residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a child psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. The training I received in residency and fellowship has prepared me to manage essentially any psychiatric issue that comes through my clinic doors, regardless of severity or complexity.

As a group psychotherapist and addiction psychiatrist, I am available to work with you on any phase of recovery from addictions, compulsive behaviors and the effects of being in a relationship with an addict (whether parent, sibling, partner or child). I understand addiction as a broad disease, including substances (alcohol, nicotine, opiates, stimulants, sedatives and other drugs), food, sex, money, work and codependence. I often work in collaboration with individual therapists and mutual support groups to enhance the effectiveness of each intervention.

Matthew R. Mills, M.D., is a licensed, private-practice psychiatrist located in the Lakeview Neighborhood of Chicago. Dr. Mills is Board Certified by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Mills completed his undergraduate training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and is a 2006 graduate of the Psychiatry Residency and Training Program at the University of Illinois Medical Center.

Dr. Nakshabandi draws from 10 years of psychiatric training experience across a wide range of settings including Harvard Medical School, The University of Chicago, The Department of Veterans Affairs and over 40 different sites across two continents. Dr. Nakshabandi has extensive knowledge on a wide array of therapeutic techniques, medication management algorithms, and complementary approaches to treatment. His treatment approach is rooted in empathy and strives to heal by evoking it.

David Gavin, MD, MS attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) for medical school, residency, and graduate school. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed reports on addiction disorders and schizophrenia and received VA and NIH funding. He has over 10 years of experience treating patients and training residents to treat patients with various psychiatric disorders. In addition, he has received numerous awards, including UIC Departmental Faculty of the Year, NARSAD Young Investigator Grant, and APIRE/AstraZeneca Young Minds in Psychiatry Award.

I am a Rush trained, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who provides psychotherapy and medication management. I am passionate about helping patients and their families overcome the stigma surrounding mental health treatment for children. Dr. Binder offers both psychotherapy and medication management with attention to mind, body, and spirit.

In poignant fashion, Kermit the Frog once sang, “it’s not easy being green”. If we replace “green” with anxious, angry, sad, depressed, lonely, or hurt, we feel the truth of the lyric. But for many of us that feel “green” over time, it can start to feel like it’s not easy being “me”. To make things even more difficult, most of the things that make us, “us”, are physically unseen; our personalities, our traumas (known or unknown), our beliefs, our emotions and thoughts. Navigating the “unseen” aspects in all of us is what fuels my passion in psychiatry, and to offer any support in that journey, is an honor.

Dr. Brown is a double board certified psychiatrist and treats children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Brown is an expert in the treatment of OCD. He will also work with clients regarding issues with PTSD, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD. Dr. Brown focuses largely on using supplements and other natural treatments such as a behavioral change to find a path forward. However, he does prescribe medications as well when needed. The goal of treatment is the less medication overall the better as long as the person is doing ok.

My expertise is in treating mood, trauma, anxiety, and attention-related disorders. I take an integrative approach in considering the brain-body connection to treat mental illness, while identifying physical, emotional, and cognitive factors that impact treatment. My background is at the interface of medicine and psychiatry and I support a collaborative, multi-modal approach to helping patients achieve functional improvement and recovery.
