As well as residency training, she has also pursued further training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the NYU Psychoanalytic Institute. I am a board certified adult, child & adolescent psychiatrist. I completed medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago, a general (adult) psychiatry residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a child psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Nashwa Hasabou is interested in her patient’s day to day experience, backgrounds, their families, communities and cultures, which enhances her ability to be empathic and effective physician. Her clinical focus is in Women’s mental health and psychopharmacology. Dr. Hasabou received her medical degree from University of Szeged in Hungary. She did her training in Psychiatry at Albany Medical Medical College, Albany, NY, which has an excellent residency program devoted to training psychiatrists in psychotherapy treatment modalities that can be an effective tool used independently or combined with psychopharmacological treatment.
