For over thirty years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people with a vast array of emotional issues. I utilize my understanding of my patients’ past and current life situations, and what I see happening within the therapeutic relationship, to help my patients achieve their goals. I"m a Board Certified Adult and Child Psychiatrist and have been in private practice since 1982 . My work in helping people through difficult times , has been my calling in life. I was born and raised in India and witnessed much suffering all around ,becoming a doctor gave me hope that I could perhaps help . I came to the USA to further my studies and since then have been in private practice. In the mean time I have also raised 3 children and dealt with major issues of Migration, Cultural assimilation, personal losses , and learnt through experiences of life, however the most valuable lessons have come from my work with patients.

Dr. Kakkar is an adult psychiatrist who completed his medical degree at the American University of Antigua and his residency at Augusta University. Dr. Kakkar was born in New Delhi and has lived in various cities throughout the world, which has given him various experiences of different cultures and backgrounds. He most recently moved from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and came back to California where he lived when he went to middle school. He enjoys working with people of all ages and has special interests in Adult ADHD, conduct/impulse control as well as affective disorders.
