He has over 15 years experience in general and mental health care practice which spans across Canada and the US. He graduated from the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program at the University of South Alabama. He was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Zeta Gamma Chapter.

Board Certified in lifespan psychiatry, adult health and addiction, my preferred clients are those 18-years-old and older that are primarily seeking professional consultation and treatment for a struggle with addiction and/or mood disorder. I will consider adolescents on a case-by-case basis. I'm a proponent of individual and group psychotherapy and the utilization of recovery models such as 12 Step programs and SMART Recovery. Medication alone is usually not the answer but a comprehensive care plan involving medication (if deemed necessary) and proper counseling.

She worked as a psychiatric RN for many years prior to becoming a psychiatric NP. This experience has provided her with a unique perspective and a multitude of resources during treatment planning.

A group of professionals came together to share experiences and offer mutual support to the mental health community. Within the compassion group, the providers have experience in providing strategies for managing stress. The provider offers professional medication management to assist patients with psychiatric disorders fully. A professional approach to a more comprehensive treatment can address all Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Bipolar Disorders. Other Therapies and modalities are offered through referrals. Dr. Aileen Kim approaches medication management with an emphasis on shared decision making within safe, effective options, thorough counseling about what to expect in treatment, and giving attention to concurrent use of non medication modalities of treatment alongside optimizing medication. She is accustomed to working with people who have more than one diagnosis. She is skilled and experienced in de-prescribing (methodically streamlining the number of medications being taken) when needed.
