Having trained at the University of Michigan, I take an evidence-based approach to mental health. However, in addition to traditional medication management, I have studied multiple forms of psychotherapy, opened myself to wellness-based methods, explored complex topics with patients from race to spirituality, and remain open to learning more approaches to mental healthcare.

I am committed to meeting you with an open, curious mind, and compassionate heart as we work together on your challenges and build toward your goals. My passion is to work with people who are going through a life transition, adjusting to school, navigating relationships and careers, and trying to make sense of their lives to build a better future. I offer individual therapy and the option of prescribing medications to individuals who prefer not to split their mental health treatment between a prescriber and a therapist. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I believe in caring for the whole person. I do this through an Internal Family Systems therapy lens, assessing, diagnosing, and caring for mental health concerns. She completed her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy and received a Post Master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from University of Michigan Flint. She follows evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition.

Krista is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) specializing in anxiety and depression. Krista works with adults 18 years of age and older. She provides holistic care with a patient centered approach that includes medication management and supportive therapy. Her practice is mainly virtual. Krista has over 13 years working as a nurse in hospital settings, urgent care, private practice, and community mental health agencies. Krista has been a PMHNP-BC since 2018.

I do not believe in the current practice of symptomatic medicine. It has proven ineffective and has divided the practice of medicine into specialties, forgetting that the body functions in a constant state of homeostasis- all systems reliant on each other to function optimally. I believe that treating the underlying issue, down to the molecular basis, is what needs to be addressed in order to treat and eventually heal the disease. Unfortunately diseases have been categorized into separate entities when there is a common thread that is shared between them. My goal is to heal the mind & body as whole through integrative medicine.
