I am a bilingual (Spanish) Child, Adolescent and young Adult Psychiatrist. I treat most psychiatric illnesses in children, teenagers and young adults. I am comfortable treating patients of any age, gender, sexual orientation, race, cultural or religious background. I am very passionate about what I do and I love making a difference in young people’s lives. It is my philosophy to consider patients and their family as unique, taking the time to listen carefully to all of their concerns, building trust gradually and offering medications only when absolutely necessary.

I offer psychiatric evaluations and medication management for anyone over 16 years of age suffering with symptoms that cause impairment in any aspect of life (e.g., professional, personal, social, self-care). I help my patients manage discomfort due to depression, anxiety, symptoms of bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, attention deficit, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, among others. Therapy begins with an extensive evaluation taking into account the patient's medical/psychiatric history, medical conditions, family history, previous treatment. Together we will establish individualized goals and monitor improvement in symptoms.

I have a BA in Communications from Michigan State University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. I worked for Candle Lighters of Brevard, when I first moved to town. worked Labor Delivery/Mother Baby at Wuesthof Melbourne for five years, during which time I went back to University of Central Florida to achieve my MSN/ Family Nurse Practitioner.

Born and raised in Cuba, Dr. Carmona received his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in GI & Family Medicine at the Havana Medical School, and practiced as a physician from 2002 to 2009. In 2007, Dr. Carmona moved to the Republic of Namibia in Southern Africa, where for two years he provided critical medical services to roughly twenty-five thousand people living in rural villages and isolated areas.

I have been in the medical field since 1999 after I graduated in 1999 as a Doctor of Medicine in Cuba and practiced for 8 years. In the United States. I certified APRN in 2020 at South University, Savannah Georgia. In 2023 I certified as a PMHNP-BC at San Thomas University. I currently work as a PMHNP. I work with populations from adolescents to older adults. Within my scope of practice, I can perform assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients' mental health needs. I perform different types of therapy and can prescribe medications for different mental health conditions. I can also perform physical evaluations.

Our Board Certified Psychiatrists and Therapists are available to help everyday and we can offer same day appointments. Telepsychiatry or Telemedicine uses video link (via computer or smartphone) to offer appointments from home or outside clinic.
