As a cancer survivor, I walk the talk. During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my patients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter. Dr. Nassiri practices Integrative Behavioral Medicine, and is board-certified in Addiction Medicine, Anesthesiology & EMDR trained. His approach is trauma and attachment informed. I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with extensive experience providing therapy and medication to adults of all ages. I provide non-judgmental care for clients who want to improve their mental health and wellbeing. I am oriented towards the harm-reduction model and feel it is important to meet each client where they are in their individual mental health and wellness journey. My primary areas of interest are in trauma, substance abuse, and in working with the LGBTQ+ community. My other areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and addiction, among many other mental health concerns.

My psychiatry practice is focused on you and how you can best achieve your goals, whether that is medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of all three. Let's work together to help you get 'unstuck'. As a psychiatrist I am comfortable with prescribing medications as well as therapy. The first half of my residency training was in the Family Medicine Dept. at the University of Iowa, and the second was in Psychiatry at the University of South Alabama, where I am an Adjunct Professor. Psychiatry was the natural choice because I enjoy having the time to listen and understand in order to personalize recommendations.
