Tara has completed a child and adolescent psychiatric fellowship at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and became nationally board certified as a PMHNP in 2019. Prior to that, she has 12 years of nursing experience including trauma, progressive care nursing, and psychiatric emergencies before graduating with a Master of Science (MSN) advanced training at the University of San Diego. She also served in the United States Air Force as a flight nurse and nursing services instructor and manager.

Syreeta worked as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse for six years before becoming a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2018. Syreeta enjoys working in behavioral health and cannot see herself doing anything else. She brings a compassionate, listening ear, along with safe and effective care. Extra time allows me to be thorough, listen to your story without interrupting, and discuss treatment plans in detail. I help clients find relief through therapy and wholistic treatment plans that can include medication management. Together we will gently dig beneath the surface of pain and distress, and begin to work towards a deep wholeness and healing. We work together to find the roots of pain and distress, and then provide help and healing to those parts that need care. I practice by the mantra "Be curious, not judgmental."

The Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) program incorporates integrative psychiatry/ketamine administration with trauma healing psychotherapy. It is designed to help individuals to heal the root of their pain, to create movement where their system feels “stuck” and to find the innate internal strength that each person holds. The Ketamine program helps individuals to work through their trauma, depression, anxiety, to optimize personal/spiritual growth and relationships, and to widen their perspective, seeing life through a more expansive lens.

I am a fifth generation physician in the practice of Psychiatry on Maui Hawaii for >37 years. I come by my passion for psychiatry and the study of the mind via the tragedy of my older brothers unfortunate passage into schizophrenia which started at his age of 12 years old. Uniquely, this whole life challenge has prepared me to meet the full spectrum of adult mental health issues with a dedication and focus upon achieving recovery into fully functioning adults. I am a board certified psychiatrist and beyond the MD degree I have had four years of full-time training in the total spectrum of treatments for mental health problems. If you have had mental health care before - or even if you haven't - you may have wondered if medications may be right for your condition, if they may be helpful in addition to counseling or psychotherapy. I specialize in offering people both, and for many people this is a more comfortable and convenient option than having a separate primary care physician and psychotherapist providing care.

My areas of expertise include treating Post Traumatic Stress and Trauma-Related Disorders. My approach to therapy includes promotion of healing through cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based therapy, as well as innovative evidence-based practices. With a focus on exploring lifestyle changes and skill building through therapeutic processing in conjunction with pharmacological influences. My background with SART/SANE has provided me with experience that helps me aid clients in making educated choices while processing stressful, traumatic life experiences or challenging circumstances.

As a Physician and a Psychiatrist, I have felt distress, worries, fears, sadness, disappointment, hurt, shame, guilt, anger and frustration of my patients. After 38 years of nursing experience, George completed advanced training at North Georgia College and State University where he earned a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. George worked for several years with indigenous people on the Cherokee Indian reservation where he found a calling to help people with mental health and addiction issues. He completed a Post-Master’s certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at East Carolina University and a certification as a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse – Advance Practice.
