She completed a psychiatry residency at Duke University in Durham, NC; and a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, while also serving as an associate professor.

Hello, my name is Heather Parkerson,and I'm board-certified as a Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and learning disorders. These include depression, anxiety, ADD, autism, school problems, impulsivity, and aggression. I also enjoy working with adults that have a variety of emotional difficulties. I believe that each person is much more than their diagnosis and with a combination of medication and therapy, we can work together to achieve a better quality of life. The most rewarding part of my job is helping individuals through difficult times in their lives.

Over the years Cari has worked to provide compassionate psychiatric care to children and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her goal is to provide patient care from a holistic perspective which incorporates a persons cultural, spiritual and mental health needs into their care. Cari strives to help people live a life that aligns with their values and beliefs, and helps them to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

I am passionate about what I do and I love working with all kinds of people to help them with their problems whether its anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, family, school, marital, work, or relationship problems. My goal is to help my clients feel safe, heard, understood, and to help them reach their goals. I believe in individualized care and treatment as everyone is different and has different needs and aspirations for themselves. I love working with kids, parents, adults, and couples to help them solve whatever communication issues they are having in order to facilitate care. I want to help people live their best life every day.

I am a board certified adult, child & adolescent psychiatrist. I completed medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago, a general (adult) psychiatry residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and a child psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. The training I received in residency and fellowship has prepared me to manage essentially any psychiatric issue that comes through my clinic doors, regardless of severity or complexity.

Dr. Brown is a double board certified psychiatrist and treats children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Brown is an expert in the treatment of OCD. He will also work with clients regarding issues with PTSD, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD. Dr. Brown focuses largely on using supplements and other natural treatments such as a behavioral change to find a path forward. However, he does prescribe medications as well when needed. The goal of treatment is the less medication overall the better as long as the person is doing ok.

I am a psychiatrist with many years of experience treating children, teenagers and adults. I am double-boarded, with certifications in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry. I was drawn to medicine by a fascination with the interplay between the mind and the brain. But while the physical brain can be examined in many ways, the human mind is still best understood through a discussion of thoughts and feelings between patient and doctor.

Dr. Tahseen Mohammed is a General and Child & Adolescent psychiatrist with over eighteen years of experience, and a diplomate in both disciplines through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). Dr. Mohammed completed a residency in General Psychiatry at University of Chicago and a fellowship in Child & Adolescent psychiatry at University of Illinois at Chicago. His experiences include serving as Medical Director of the Pediatric Bipolar disorder program at UIC, Medical Director of inpatient and outpatient services at Northwest Community hospital .

Bradley Pechter, MD is a psychiatrist with over 25 years of clinical experience. He has attended school at Stanford University, Northwestern Medical School, and the Universities of Illinois and Colorado. He has been board-certified in adult, child & adolescent and addiction psychiatry over the course of his career. Dr. Pechter has also been on the faculty at Northwestern, Rush and the University of Illinois. He has been in private practice for the past 10 years and has a special interest in Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Psychiatry.

Since 1995, Dr. Amer Smajkic has been practicing Psychiatry in the Chicago area. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr Smajkic is applying his knowledge and skills as a Psycho-pharmacologist, Behaviorist and Cognitive Behavioral therapist. The focus of his care are ADHD disorders, Learning disorders, Developmental disorders, Mood disorders and Anxiety disorders.

Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the unconscious meanings of thoughts and feelings rather than focusing upon behavior. I’m interested in helping children, adolescents and adults discover the patterns in their emotional and cognitive worlds in order to gain insight into themselves, towards a deeper understanding and integration of unconscious processes into daily life. After obtaining my medical degree at McGill University in 1982, I interned in Montreal in internal medicine before coming to the University of Chicago to complete my residency in general psychiatry and then a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry in 1990.

I take time to get to know my patients and their concerns. Within the scope of general adult and child and adolescent psychiatry I offer evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, family sessions and consultations, as well as school consultations and evaluations. I have a special interest in eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and ADHD. My practice is open to other general psychiatric needs as well. I pride myself on getting to know my patients and their needs. I also routinely work with families to understand and cope with their loved one's illness. I use evidence based medicine and the most up to date practices.

Audrey is a board certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She treats psychiatric conditions using a holistic approach with therapeutic intervention and medication management. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of disorders and behavioral symptoms. In 2018, She completed her Advanced Practice degree through St. Francis University in Joliet. Prior to this, Audrey worked as psychiatric nurse. Audrey has had extensive experience within multiple settings including inpatient, residential, PHP/IOP, and outpatient practice across the lifespan.

Dr. Othman Mohammad is a board-certified, Harvard-trained child, and adult psychiatrist. He has been practicing psychiatry for 10+ years. In addition to treating patients, he is also an assistant professor of psychiatry and is actively involved in teaching and supervising medical students, mental health workers, and residents. He has publicly spoken and presented regionally and nationally on various topics including bipolar disorder treatment, disaster trauma first aid, and refugee mental health. Dr. Mohammad is deeply committed to making psychiatric care accessible, down to earth, trauma informed, personalized and personable.

I am a Rush trained, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who provides psychotherapy and medication management. I am passionate about helping patients and their families overcome the stigma surrounding mental health treatment for children. There is an unfortunate shortage of psychiatrists that specialize in treating children, which I recognized early in my training. This area of psychiatry is uniquely challenging due to its diversity, but I have worked with patients from a wide range of socio-economic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, and even patients as young as three years old.

I enjoy the challenges of learning and treating the brain and its complexities. The mind-body integration and how it affects our day-to-day lives is fascinating to me. As a psychiatrist, I understand the importance of keeping up with advances in science and medicine in addition to being practical about what will work best for the patient. I like to combine cutting edge medicine with care and empathy to form a personalized treatment plan for each of my patients to achieve the best results with a safe and compassionate approach.

We help youth with serious learning difficulties and psychiatric/neurological challenges such as lead exposure, violence brain injury. Attention Deficit and Anxiety disorders are further burdened by minimal or no timely or distance access to specialists. A flexible format allows our professionals to use strategies that are tailored to address each child's learning style, skills, interests, and needs.

Dr. Malik completed her internship at the Harvard Medical School South Shore Psychiatry Program. She then completed both a residency in psychiatry, and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Toledo Medical School. She holds double-board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry and is one of the few psychiatrists in northern Illinois who has specialized training in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. In addition to providing empirically validated treatment, she is also certified to provide cutting edge treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).
