Having started as an Educator, My Education and training Include a Master’s in psychology, a Master’s in Community and Public health, a Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner, CAGS in PMHNP and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. As a Doctorate prepared Psychiatric and Family practitioner, I draw on my knowledge of Nursing, Psychology, Community / Public Health and Education to advocate for and provide the very best solutions for those I serve. I am a Psychiatric and Geriatric Board Certified Nurse Practitioner who enjoys working closely with my patients to help them find ways to understand and improve their quality of life. My job is to help you to find ways to cope and give you hope and good outcomes by the use of counseling, education, medications or other alternatives.

As a lead nurse practitioner during the pandemic times of isolation, quarantine, and minimal social events, I observed and treated the immediate, short-term impacts of COVID-19 and grew an interest in understanding the long-term mental health impacts of the pandemic, especially among marginalized groups of people.

I have been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2014 in primary care settings where I supported pediatric patients' physical and mental health. Through this role, I gained ample experience treating ADHD, depression, and anxiety in pediatric and adolescent populations. I completed Duke University's PMHNP program, during which time I worked with adolescent and adult populations in community healthcare clinics, a partial-hospital program and an emergency department. I have training in CBT and have studied DBT. I treat children, adolescents, and adults with a special interest in providing care for youth and families.

With her deep understanding of psychiatric disorders, she can help you find the path to recovery and improved well-being. Betty Yu specializes in managing various psychiatric disorders, including but not limited to: ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, PTSD, Schizophrenia.
