Leading a fulfilling and happy life can be challenging and may even seem impossible at times. I believe that communicating and connecting via talk therapy is one path towards a happier and more meaningful life. My view is that therapy provides an opportunity to gain insight into one's relationships with one's self, others and society. I use a variety of approaches in my therapeutic work according to what works for each individual person. Together we'll focus on trying to understand the root causes of various problems and repetitive patterns of behavior that are difficult to change.

I am a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Having started as an Educator, My Education and training Include a Master’s in psychology, a Master’s in Community and Public health, a Master’s in Family Nurse Practitioner, CAGS in PMHNP and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. As a Doctorate prepared Psychiatric and Family practitioner, I draw on my knowledge of Nursing, Psychology, Community / Public Health and Education to advocate for and provide the very best solutions for those I serve. I have more than 30 year of service as senior faculty at Harvard Medical School. Distinctions include receipt of the highest HMS mentorship award. My private practice is at my home office, with privacy and discretion assured. Patients include healthcare professionals executives. My patients and I work together to foster personal and professional growth and development, Medications prescribed when needed. Age range from early adolescents to supe-elder. My practice is an evaluation, consultation, and treatment resource for patients, families and clinicians locally and nationally.

Dr. Marken is a Columbia- and Cornell-trained, board-certified adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist. He was on faculty at Harvard Medical School and is now on faculty at New York University. Dr. Marken predominantly provides psychotherapy and/or medication management. He has a patient-centered approach that provides thorough and individualized care for your particular needs. As a physician, Dr. Marken focuses on the interaction between the biological, the psychological, and the environmental contributors to mental health. He is a member of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry and works with athletes at all levels.

I spend the extra time to explain and teach how your diagnosis works with the chemicals in your mind and how your medications work to balance you. We make decisions together.
