Dr. Celina Egemasi is a Dual Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to practice in both primary care and psychiatry; diagnose, treat and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, adults and elderly. Some of her practice specialties include (but not limited to) Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia. She graduated from Walden University with her Family Nurse Practitioner degree and Brandman University with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice and Post Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree. Anita has more than 8 yrs experience as psychiatric nurse practitioner, and experience as telepsych provider for more than 4 yrs. Her experiences include outpatient, inpatient, military, and civilian; works with children and adult populations.

Psychiatrists are the only doctors who don't look inside the body to assess a problem. Think about it; all other doctors use imaging and labs to look inside a person’s body when making a diagnosis. That coupled with your symptoms is how they determine what the problem is. Unfortunately, mental health providers have learned that how a person feels is their only tool in assessing somebody. Because of this, psychiatrists often have no idea what’s causing the problem. This limits the treatment options to a prescribed “band-aid" that is used to reduce symptoms, instead of addressing the underlying cause of a problem.

Hello, I'm Emma! I'm a Doctorate level Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I focused my Doctoral research on behavioral interventions for substance use and I believe that success in mental healthcare comes from shared decision making, treating you as a whole individual and creating sustainable treatment plans for a lifelong change. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and I am a long-time resident of Seattle. I have worked extensively in community mental health and homeless services and I have addressed a wide range of mental health concerns from my past work as a case manager and registered nurse.

Over the years, I had professional affiliations with reputable mental health facilities including Bakersfield behavior, John George psych and more. I treat children and adults affected by various mental illness with care and compassion. I utilize Evidence Based Practice model to make treatment choices. I am specialized in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety and mood instability. Stimulant and non stimulant treatment are available. I do conduct ADHD screening and testing before treatment.
