I enjoy working with patients who are looking for a deeper understanding of their lives and struggles. While I do believe that symptom relief is important, I also believe it is important to address the underlying situations that have brought the symptoms about and that often cause them to recur. I provide both psychoanalysis and psychodynamic psychotherapy, in which I focus on the importance of interpersonal relationships, including the here-and-now of the relationship with the therapist, to help patients break free of old patterns and to live freer and more authentic lives.

It can be hard to talk about these concerns but I am driven to create a comfortable relationship with you.
Accepting new patients with immediate openings! My practice philosophy is simple: We all deserve to feel our best! Sometimes, that isn’t as easy as it sounds. Stress from the demands of daily life can cause difficulty concentrating, trouble sleeping, anger, and other barriers to you feeling your best, or even feeling yourself. I am a warm and approachable provider who will listen to your mental health goals as we together develop a therapeutic treatment plan.

I believe a positive and supportive patient-provider relationship has a significant healing effect and is a key factor in achieving positive treatment outcomes.
During initial visits, I provide a thorough examination of the psychological, physiological, and social etiologies of a patient's symptoms. With that foundation, I can offer the most appropriate and beneficial recommendations for pharmacotherapy and counseling. My holistic clinical approach encompasses the mind-body connection. I incorporate into my recommendations on compassion and mindfulness practices, proper nutrition and sleep, joyful movement, as well as medication in the creation and maintenance of overall well-being.

Are you feeling depressed, anxious, confused, or stuck? I listen closely to your story, and through supportive, careful exploration, we work to increase your understanding of yourself and of the causes of your symptoms. We build on this to reduce symptoms and help you create positive change in your life. A warm and accepting therapy relationship, where you get to be seen and heard as you, can be transformative. I also prescribe medication when needed.

Have you ever felt rushed through a mental health visit? Have you ever felt like "just" a diagnosis or collection of symptoms? You are more than that: You are a complex and whole human being and you have a right to be seen. I am committed to establishing a deep level of trust with each client, which I hope will serve as the foundation for our therapeutic alliance. I take the time to get to know each of my patients, understanding their individual experiences and needs, and working with them to develop effective strategies for managing their mental health.

I specialize in TMS therapy and see individuals for a course of TMS. This stands for transcranial magnetic stimulation and it is FDA approved and endorsed by the American Psychiatric Association. TMS is ideal to consider if a patient has underwent traditional therapy and medication management but they are still struggling with finding relief from their depressive symptoms. Individuals may still struggle with low mood, lack of interest, low energy, difficulty thinking clearly, sleep and appetite disturbances and more. If you are interested in meeting me, please tell the front desk you are interested in TMS to get an appointment.

Relationship Issues Psychiatrists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
