Over the past 14 years, I’ve learned that many people could benefit by seeing a mental health specialist but don’t necessarily want or need to engage in a long-term commitment. Maybe they just need anxiety medication when they give a speech, take a test, or get on a plane. Maybe they’ve moved, or their doctor retired and need refills while they find a new provider. Or maybe they want a 2nd opinion about their current regimen, aren’t sure if they need therapy, or just want to run a problem by someone for advice. I am a Columbia University-trained, Board-Certified psychiatrist and researcher. I help people with a wide variety of psychological problems including addiction, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, OCD, and PTSD. I believe that treatment should be personalized and tailored in each individual's needs and goals, and I offer both medications and psychotherapy. In addition, I offer treatment with buprenorphine (Suboxone) and extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol) to help people with heroin or prescription opioid problems.

I treat a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, cognitive and memory problems, and persistent psychotic illnesses such as schizophrenia. I have extensive experience treating the lasting effects of traumatic experiences and helping individuals overcome grief. My practice also includes diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders in adults (e.g., bulimia). Although my practice is guided by research on the most effective treatments, I tailor my treatment recommendations to the individual's specific circumstances.

I am a Board certified psychiatrist with a broad training in psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, addiction, and emergency psychiatry. I started my career as a child psychiatrist and a researcher 20 years ago. I was interested not only in biological basis of mental disorders, but in psychotherapy and the concept of change. Upon immigration to the US, I studied among influential psychiatrists and therapists in New York and Boston. Currently I work in inpatient and outpatient settings, supervise medical students, and conduct psychiatric research. As I have been for the past 20 years, I am still fascinated with the amazing, complex process of individual development.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience. My practice includes psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
