I love working with people and going through their life stages together; adolescents, college students, young adults and then adults. I believe that the modality of treatment should be suited to the patient's needs. I have trained through different schools and continue to do so. Once we work together on identifying their issues, we work on them with a "tailored treatment", that said; individual psychotherapy, mindfulness meditation, complementary treatment with vitamins, exercises and if needed medication.

Dr. Kenia is a board certified and licensed Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst who believes in a holistic approach. She takes time to get to know each person so she can provide thoughtful and individualized treatment. She is trained in both medication management and talk therapy to treat a variety of adult disorders. My professional background is Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry. I am also board certified in Forensic Psychiatry. I am currently on faculty at NYU School of Medicine and I have been an attending psychiatrist at the NYU Medical Center, where I worked for three years as the Director of the Young Adult Unit. I specialize in treating children, teens and adults. I have extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of many areas of concern including but not limited to anxiety, OCD, depression, attentional disorders, acting out behaviors as well as issues concerning relationships, career and identity.

I am a psychiatrist with expertise in both medication management and psychotherapy. I have been involved with medical student and resident education in these areas as a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College, Columbia University Medical Center, and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

I have spent several years working with adults from ages 16 to 70. Several of my patients are going through difficult transitions and have experienced anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and ADHD. I use a multidisciplinary approach if appropriate, and often times will do weekly therapy in addition to medication management.

Here at the Venn Center, we offer patients a unique therapeutic experience. I conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments, as well as provide both individual and group psychotherapy to clients of all ages. I also offer pharmacotherapy and medication management when appropriate. That being said, 25% of my patients are not on any medication since I employ non-medicinal interventions that help remediate psychiatric symptoms whenever possible.
