I am a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and have over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. As a BIPOC provider I believe navigating clients’ life challenges through an intersectional lens is necessary in order to heal. My approach offers clients a holistic and integrative approach to treatment. Along with a functional medicine in lieu of medication management, I provide supportive psychotherapy that incorporates and skills based techniques.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and New York University (NYU). After graduating as chief resident, I went on to pursue a fellowship and work in the public sector serving those most in need. My clients often include those that have been struggling with difficulties that impair their day to day function, leaving them unsatisfied, unhappy or struggling with inner turmoil or anxiety. Dr. Gundu Reddy is a Board Certified Psychiatrist in New York City. Prior to starting residency at Mount Sinai School of medicine she pursued additional research in HIV psychiatry. As well as residency training, she has also pursued further training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the NYU psychoanalytic institute. She states that whether prescribing medication, family, or relationship therapy, understanding psychodynamic conflict and causes of symptoms will cause help to enhance the quality of care. As well as psychodynamic training Dr Reddy also has a background in integrative psychiatry and treatment resistance.

My interest is towards my patients and my patients are my priority. I love my career and I love to take care of my patients. Psychodynamically, I work with my patients to understand how patterns of thinking and feeling from early childhood affect their current lives. I can work with you to make sense of tough transitions like grief, relationship issues, balancing family roles, divorce, not meeting expectations at work or school, and medical illnesses. As former advisor to Yale's University Chaplain, I know how people who are suffering search for hope. I teach and supervise psychotherapy at Columbia where I am a full professor.
