I am a board certified psychiatrist and my practice includes the treatment of adults and adolescents ages 16 and older. Having received specialty training in Women's Mental Health, I am experienced with mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Mental health and psychiatric symptoms are complex, and affected both by brain chemistry and environmental factors. I listen closely to understand the details of a patient's life in order to determine the best course of treatment. When medication is indicated, I strive to develop safe and effective regimens with my patients.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist as well as a psycho-oncologist who treats adults of all ages. My focus is on helping clients find and manifest meaning in their lives, transform potential into reality, and become the best version of their selves. My approach is to apply principles of neuroscience, psychology, meditation and mindfulness, stress management, nutrition, exercise, and pharmacology, to not only alleviate suffering but ultimately to promote thriving. I earned my medical degree at the Catholic University of Guayaquil.

My practice includes medication management of adults ages 18 and over. I have specialty training and research in college and student athlete mental health. I have a particular interest in working with young adults to build a healthy foundation to achieve their goals. In addition to medication management, my approach to mental health care involves addressing overall health and well-being, including eating habits, exercise, sleep-hygiene, cultivating healthy relationships, and finding meaning in our day to day life.

I provide comprehensive and holistic treatment for those struggling with mood, anxiety, sleep, psychotic, OCD, ADHD, eating, and trauma based disorders. I have extensive experience with addiction/substance use disorders and geriatric psychiatric conditions as well. For substance use disorders, I provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options including naltrexone and suboxone/buprenorphine. For geriatric individuals, I provide memory evaluations, treat dementia along with related behavioral disturbances, and more. My therapeutic strategy always relies on using as few medications as possible at the lowest effective doses.

When someone seeks treatment from a psychiatrist they are usually suffering in some way. Anxiety, depression, conflict, psychological pain or confusion are some hallmarks of what brings someone to treatment. Part of the human experience for many people is not feeling understood. Psychiatric treatment begins with a full understanding of the patient, their history, their thoughts, their fantasies, their conflicts, their hopes and dreams. After this diagnostic phase we enter a mutually agreed-upon treatment approach, whether psychotherapy or medication, or both.

Dr. Wang was born and raised in Los Angeles. She finished her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Literature and graduated with a medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. During medical school, Dr. Wang worked with the Ministry of Health in Peru looking at adolescent attitudes towards substance abuse. The following year, the American Psychiatric Association awarded her funding for smoking cessation research at Langley Porter, UCSF.

In order to offer my patients the most appropriate treatments, I believe firmly in performing a rigorous diagnostic assessment. The results of this assessment are then discussed with my patients, and we work collaboratively to create a treatment plan tailored to his or her individual needs. When working with children, I believe it is essential that both the child and the parents' preferences be honored. If everyone agrees that medication is indicated, then my preferred approach is generally to use the fewest number of medications at the lowest possible effective dose(s).

I am able to provide a broad assessment of a child, adolescent or adult's difficulties and coordinate treatment to address the root causes of the issue. I consider psychological, social, family systems, cultural, interpersonal, academic and medical issues.

I am a strong proponent of collaborating with the patient to create a tailored holistic and evidence-based management plan that incorporates the anatomic, mental, cultural, and social variations of each patient. I have considerable training in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and specialize in major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I grew up in Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

She seeks to understand each individual holistically, including their backgrounds and the strengths they already possess to provide an individualized approach. Monique believes that establishing a strong alliance with her clients is essential to getting the most out of therapy and creating lasting change. In completing my psychiatric residency at the University of Connecticut, I became well versed in treating a wide variety of complex psychiatric conditions. Outside of practicing medicine I strive for continuous self-growth through the practice of yoga and actively immersing myself in new endeavors.

While I have expertise in medication management and psychotherapy, I believe that any success in helping patients reach their goals rests on a strong collaborative foundation. I have a passion for understanding people and utilizing that deeper knowledge to determine with the patient an appropriate treatment goal. I'm quite comfortable treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including Major Depression and Bipolar, while staying cognizant of the profound distinction between the disorder and the patient. I also have an interest working with the young adult population.

Anjam Bahl MD is a Double Board Certified Child and Adult Psychiatrist practicing since 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College of Columbia University and then remained at Columbia to complete her Doctor of Medicine. She then completed Residency in Adult Psychiatry at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. Subsequently, she completed a Child and Adolescent Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Over the years Anjam has been described as "extremely well organized, thorough, and thoughtful in her assessments and treatment recommendations.

At the same time I am thorough and methodical, carefully doing my best to understand what's going on. My approach to mental health is to understand the person as a whole, appreciating their strengths and challenges. I find it very helpful to get to know an individual and hear about their life. Then we can carefully consider the challenges at hand.

Dr Stevens is compassionate Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist with 25 years of experience treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders. Her practice philosophy includes evaluating the whole person in the context of their health, environment and relationships. She performs a thorough evaluation to make recommendations for treatment with an individualized balance of medications, psychotherapy and lifestyle/behavior interventions (such as exercise and nutrition) then works closely with you to follow through on your treatment in a way that optimizes your outcome and quality of life.

Originally from rural eastern Canada, I attended medical school at Saba University School of Medicine. I completed both adult psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. I treat a broad range of psychiatric diagnoses with therapy, medications or both if needed. One of my specialties is the treatment of borderline personality disorder with close attention to preventive treatment in adolescence.
