My goal as a psychiatrist is to partner with you to help you achieve balance and resilience. I have found that the science of medicine and the art of psychotherapy can be wonderfully effective tools to help people heal and move forward. I am also very comfortable working with supplements (such certain herbs, vitamins and minerals), mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and exercise, and also can provide neurostimulation consultation and techniques, when necessary.

At Center for Community Brain Health, my partner, Dr. Cassie Yu and I help our patients achieve optimal functioning. It begins by an extensive intake where we learn your whole life story to better understand your symptoms in context. We specialize especially in treatment resistant mental health and offer deep TMS services. It has been so rewarding to see the progress our patients have had!

I am board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry, and treat adult individuals of all ages and backgrounds. My areas of interest and experience include college mental health, integrating psychotherapy with medication, mood disorders, thought disorders, depression and anxiety, healthy aging and memory issues, as well as psychiatric issues in pregnancy and post partum. I strongly believe that understanding and knowing my patients well is crucial to forming a strong alliance and providing good care that is tailored to the whole person--whether through medication, therapy or both.

Currently Accepting New Patients (Updated 4/3/24) - I am a California Physician who has a passion for helping people achieve a satisfying and fun life. I have worked locally in SLO and Ventura counties, and see people from across the state. I use a whole life approach, that includes lifestyle and nutritional changes, medication options, and a multidisciplinary mindset. I explore early life experiences that have made us who we are, then link the impact of the past to the present. I believe expanding our connection to the natural world is core to our personal journey to happiness and use this in my care.
