I am a board certified psychiatrist, a medical doctor who specializes in treating adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I apply a combination of medication management and individual therapy. The first appointment is to identify the symptoms that are causing distress or interfering with patient’s function to make treating these particular symptoms a clinical priority. Examples may be difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or waking up too early in the morning, excessive worry or finding it hard to “let things go”, feeling tired all of the time or losing interest in things.

My practice is focused on mental wellness in all forms. It is important to not only treat mental illness, but to promote healthy coping skills and relational patterns. Dr. Hansen began her medical career in the Army National Guard as a medic. After completing 12 years education, she moved to Alaska to work in integrated care models for the Native American people at Southcentral Foundation. During this time, she served as an adult & adolescent psychiatrist & director for the dual-diagnosis addiction program. She gradually transitioned to the field of tele-psychiatry & assumed the role of Behavioral Health Director for multiple towns in Alaska while concomitantly working in California for LA County. She now practices concierge tele-psychiatry in AK, AZ, CA & FL & is accepting new clients.
