Hi! My name is Kathryn, but I go by Kat. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). My career began in emergency medicine, where I saw firsthand the challenges patients face when struggling with mental health & substance use. After ten years in the ER, I was ready to change how I could help people, which led me here.
While certified in family practice and emergency medicine, my true passion is mental health. My background & experiences create a unique perspective in this field. I received my Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), where my doctoral project focused on improving access to mental health care. I am pretty laid back!
