My name is James Somers. I am a doctoral-trained PA who has been practicing in psychiatry and mental wellness for the past 24 years. I specialize in treating many disorders that stem from low neurotransmitter levels (e.g., serotonin, GABA, and dopamine.) At times, I prescribe commonly used anti-anxiety/depressants that can be useful in the short or long term, depending on the situation. However, I look at the whole body, and many times, naturally restoring the brain's normal function resolves the need for prescription medication with the advantage that It is extremely effective with none of the downsides of prescription medication.
Depending on the needs of the client I also use genetic labs to personalize prescription medication treatment (these are often covered by Insurance). I am well prepared to evaluate and treat mood disturbances, depression, anger, anxiety, obsessions, attention deficit issues, psychosis, and psychiatric aspects of medical illness, like chronic pain.
Because it's about YOUR quality, you have to want to seek help and change something that is negatively affecting your life. I am ready to help. I graduated with a Doctorate in Health Science and am a past president of the National Association of PAs in Psychiatry.
