I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and have a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Virginia. I provide extensive psychiatric evaluation, ongoing individual therapy, and psychopharmacological treatment initiation and monitoring to individuals of all ages. My goal is to help you customize a plan that enables you to find lasting change. This plan may involve medication, therapy, or a combination of both. Ultimately, developing a collaborative treatment plan with you is the best way to meet your needs.
As a Nurse Practitioner, I have been trained to focus on the whole person, this approach to providing care naturally lends itself to providing therapy and medication management. My practice philosophy centers on using medication as a tool "making the job easier", as you build coping skills and gain insight.
Nursing theorist such as Jean Watson and Hildegard Peplau provided the foundation for my practice. My approach is holistic, incorporating both western medicine, eastern medicine and complimentary therapies, to best serve you.
