Most of my clients identify as LGBTQ and I have a special interest in working with this population, but I welcome anyone to my practice who wants to disentangle long-standing problems, understand themselves more deeply, and feel more alive. While symptoms of depression, anxiety, or distraction signal that something is wrong, most of the issues people bring to therapy are complex and woven into the fabric of their lives, histories, and relationships. For this reason I work within a psychodynamic framework, which can help reduce distressing symptoms as well as support deeper, long-lasting, inner change.
Therapeutic change occurs over time as parts of the brain become more integrated with one another and new neural pathways develop alongside old ones. As this happens, our work together will find its way out into your world and you’ll notice positive changes in how you feel, see yourself and others, and engage with problems.
Psychodynamic therapy carries the potential for benefits well beyond symptom relief, and research shows that patients can continue to improve even after treatment ends.
