Hi, my name is Agata, and I specialize in trauma (including combat and military sexual trauma). My mission is to help you process through negative thoughts and assumptions about yourself, others, and the world, which are common after experiencing a traumatic event. I will conduct a thorough assessment of your symptoms and together we will choose the right treatment for you! I am glad you are here because none of my experience and education will be impactful without you and your conscious decision to take the first step. I am excited to join you on this amazing journey of self-discovery and healing.
I use gold standard trauma focused treatment: cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE). Both treatment modalities are evidence based and are very effective in just 12 weeks of treatment. I also use symptom focused treatment: ACT, STAIR, PTSD skill training, and mindfulness if you're not ready to engage in trauma processing just yet!
I am a great advocate for Carl Rogers' idea of unconditional positive regard, and I genuinely believe that a strong and trusting relationship with a client makes all the difference. There is absolutely no judgment in my therapy room. Here, you can say, think, and feel whatever helps you heal. Trauma treatment does not have to be scary!
