Looking for a couples counseling? It's likely that you're struggling with many things in your relationship. It started well but you now have difficulty talking about things that mean a lot to you. It can be frustrating because you're both yearning to feeling closer and want to figure it out. Both of you have worked on being good people, but something about where you are now requires new skills, a new step beyond. Couples counseling can help you develop those skills and take that step beyond. Let's work together.
My approach is emotionally-focused. I help you get in touch with the core emotional patterns that are creating distress in your life and relationships. It is these inner sensitivities that lead couples into arguments or distancing and individuals into depression, anxiety, and numbing out.
I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy. This means helping you identify and start to change reactions that you learned in response to past painful experiences. My approach promotes understanding and acceptance so you can find the core feelings that help you love and live well.
