Hello! I specialize in supporting caregivers and their young child that displays difficult behaviors and emotions; particularly kiddos who experienced adoption or early adversity. I do things a bit differently from other child therapists and research and brain science significantly influence my perspective about where challenges come from and how solutions can be found. Therefore, I heavily involve caregivers as the key to bringing change for their child. With kiddos and caregivers, I use a play-based & sensory approach to increase felt safety, regulation, and relational capacity.
I use the guidance of the Neurosequential Model, an approach integrating neurodevelopment and traumatology to inform work with children and families. I primarily use Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Theraplay techniques and the auditory therapy, Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). Additionally, I am trained in EMDR and the ARC framework.
