All of us get "stuck" at some point in our lives. It doesn't mean we are broken; rather, it means we must find our way back to a path of healthy and effective living. Sometimes, like quicksand, the harder we try to get out, the more we feel like we are sinking. I am a clinical psychologist with specialized training in treatment for anxiety, sleep disorders, depression, interpersonal difficulties, life transitions, and trauma. Regardless of diagnosis, our work together will help you better understand your strengths and challenges, and find a way to move forward toward a more fulfilling life.
I use mindfulness and acceptance based approaches to provide compassionate and effective treatment. My training at Duke and the University of Tennessee included treating individuals using a variety of treatments such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia.
My goal is to help you connect with strengths you already possess while moving towards healthy living. In addition to building insight, I believe the heart of psychotherapy is creating psychological flexibility. Our work together will focus on helping you to increase your overall resiliency and effectiveness in your life.
