I believe in a holistic approach, meaning my view of the therapeutic process is shaped by a curiosity about the whole person situated within relationships, community, and social context. Through discovering an individuals inner knowledge, their intuition, and that inner spark of existence, I believe there is value in exploring who we are as people. The goal of good psychotherapy quite simply put is to become more of who we authentically are, everyday. It is also my belief that people naturally go through phases in life of seeking and integration, and that in an ideal outcome the therapist becomes obsolete.
Time and care is taken to collaborate with clients to create counseling plans unique to individual needs, values, beliefs, and desired outcomes. Dr. Rob practices outside of conventional paradigms that involve applying diagnoses to mental and emotional distress, and is open to supporting your own process of meaning-making in whatever direction it takes you.
I offer strategies and support in times of intense transition, as you move through painful physical and emotional symptoms and begin a journey of re-discovering who you are. I provide individualized support and education according to your unique needs, working with and through experiences of the past that may have been emotionally charged or disturbing.
