I treat individuals, couples, and families, spanning from childhood through adulthood. Therapy can be useful when we are experiencing life as painful, confusing or challenging, no matter the reason. Many live with feelings of sadness, loss, disorientation, isolation and diminished self-worth. Exploring those feelings and troubling symptoms in a safe environment with a caring, experienced professional, can serve to motivate us to identify patterns that stand in our way, be curious about and understand ourselves, all of which can lead to making meaningful and needed changes.
Modern life moves fast, but through therapy we can be in the moment and reflect on our experience. I respect each client's experience, and strive to listen with empathy and without judgment. The connection between myself and the individual in treatment is ultimately the vehicle for healing. Contextualizing race, gender, and class can add a layer to our work.
My work draws from psychodynamic psychotherapy, and an eclectic mix of traditions, including mindfulness, somatic experiencing, interpersonal and relational. I have treated scores of children, adolescents and adults, striving with each to create an opportunity for clarity, relief and development. We can collaborate to tailor our work to your specific needs.
