I am passionate about helping people who struggle with anxiety, addiction, developmental trauma, depression, and relational issues. At the core of my approach is an attitude of warmth, acceptance, and faith in my client's innate capacity for healing and transformation. Often people come to therapy with a sense of disempowerment. The impulse to reach out in hope of finding a caring, safe, or 'true other' shows your innate wisdom and strength. We are all in desperate need of help and connection. The implicit hope is that you can do more than just survive.
One of my favorite things about being a therapist is the commitment to ongoing education, training, that translates into my own growth. I have advanced training in counseling methods to for stuck emotion processing, expanding personal resources, and gaining confidence. I am certified in AEDP, EMDR, and am a student of Somatic Experiencing.
I consider our first few sessions an opportunity for us to get to know each other, and to develop a plan for our work together that feels clear, and hopeful. I am more than happy to explore working together or pointing you in the best direction to engage your healing process.
