Most people need help at various times in their lives navigating difficult experiences. My approach is collaborative, action-oriented and positive with individuals and couples. When relevant, I incorporate somatic (body) approaches, including EMDR and Brainspotting modalities to working with anxiety, phobias, trauma and other issues. My practice also includes the option of "walking and talking" outdoors. I am influenced by IFS / IFIO (parts work), self-compassion, feminist, and polyvagal approaches. I help clients connect more deeply with the past and address barriers to well-being in the present.
I specialize in difficult life transitions, such as adapting to parenthood, neurodivergence, professional changes and divorce. Other areas of specialty include anxiety and trauma. I also specialize in individuals impacted by mental illness, addiction and/or trauma of a loved one. Finally, I am a good fit with artists, parents, academics and other therapists.
Maturity and a strong intuitive sense matter deeply for the therapeutic process. Therapy also involves the art of co-regulation, empathy and nuanced understandings. I am an interactive engaged therapist with you, gently pushing when needed. Connection and safety in my office will help you develop flexible adaptive responses to life’s challenges.
