Meet with as many people as is necessary to find someone you truly trust. Don't settle. There are lots of therapists - yours should be awesome.
My own approach is flexible, brain and body-based, and pragmatic. I am equally interested in short-term problem-solving and deeper, transformative work. I start with establishing a solid relationship - honest and compassionate. Everything else revolves around that. With persistent, wise effort, growth is not only possible but inevitable.
