It can be vulnerable to start therapy; it takes courage. I believe it can be very rewarding and is one of the most powerful paths of transformation. Being in therapy is an opportunity to look at your life, and to learn new ways of relating to yourself, to others, and to your circumstances. This process can ease the pain of whatever difficulty you may be going through. It is an opportunity to not have to be alone with your pain, but to have the support and guidance of someone who is familiar with the terrain of the human psyche.
I draw from psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches. It is important to understand your history as well as to look for related patterns in the present. Often times there is an aspect of your behavior that you don't understand and feels beyond your control. There may be an important message there yet to be discovered.
Part of the process in therapy is developing an awareness of what's happening in your mind and body in the present moment so that you can have more agency in your life. My areas of focus are the inner critic, ACOAs, couples struggling in their relationship and individuals seeking relationships.

Groups
Meditation Support Group
This group is for beginning and intermediate meditators to learn and practice meditation in a supportive small group. Many people feel they "can't" meditate, they give up quickly, or continue to try but find it very difficult and unpleasant, often plagued by thoughts of wondering why it's so hard for them, and feeling stuck. In this group we will work with and examine these experiences in a gentle way. Often, self-judgment or "comparing mind" get in the way. We will learn to identify these self-limiting patterns and develop compassion for ourselves to support this learning process.
