While relationships are my passion, I also strive to recognize each human within the relationship; as such, many areas I work in apply to both couples and individuals. My specialties are emotional & sexual intimacy, rebuilding trust, cultural blending, self-esteem, and communication. Growth occurs most successfully when there is a willingness to self-reflect, be curious, be open to challenge & change, and consistently work between sessions. My goal is for my clients to build the necessary skills to approach difficulties on their own - rather than rely on therapy indefinitely.
My approach is strengths-based, attachment/emotion-focused, culturally-sensitive, and trauma-informed. Couples therapy is typically structured using the Gottman Method and enhanced by my individual approaches. After an in-depth assessment, we collaboratively determine goals for therapy, then I introduce psychoeducation and evidence-based interventions.
Everyone faces challenges in our lives that we're not fully prepared for. No one should expect to have all the answers - there is strength in asking for help.
