There are many gifts with being a therapist, including being witness to significant, positive change. I have worked since 2005 with many individuals facing mental health challenges, difficult life transitions, and challenging relationships of all kinds. I have also had a career in the business arena holding leadership positions, so I am uniquely able to offer insight and guidance surrounding navigating work and how our lives can be both positively or negatively impacted by what we do (boundaries, communication, work/life balance, etc.).
The Dalai Lama said: "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." My process is to partner with my clients as they move toward wisdom, self-compassion and intentional living. I believe in "process over content," and value the relationship between therapist and client above all else.
I believe in the notion that there is a lot of useful information in pain. In life, our goal is not to avoid it, but to become wiser and richer because of it.
