The invitation to speak freely is the foundation of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I attempt to listen in a way that is rare in everyday communication. As we listen to your speech, repetitions of difficulties, habits and behaviors that have been resistant to change or other forms of therapy come forward as well as unexplored and unrecognized perspectives. These point to the roots of your daily difficulties and suggest actions to change. You are also invited to speak about your dreams, daydreams, and fantasies, which give direction and guidance to the underlying symptoms and support the process of connecting to your desire.
Some of my clients are totally new to therapy but many have tried different forms of personal development and therapy and are looking for something deeper.
