Hello and Welcome! My name is Jonathan Beer, a Doctor of Social Work and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Located in South Florida. As a psychotherapist, I work with adults, ages 18 and above, including older adults, individuals and couples who are experiencing some of life's many challenges. I work with clients who experience trauma, stress and anxiety. I also work with LGBTQ+ clients dealing with the many stressors we are all facing today. I am an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist. EMDR is a technique for working with trauma, anxiety and stress. Currently I am training in Imago therapy for couples.
I am here to listen and assist you in navigating life's stressors and your reactions to them. I use a collaborative approach in which we work together to define goals, objectives, and create a treatment plan which we will assess and tweak as needed in the following sessions.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and trauma informed. I believe that my job is to help you recognize and find what works for you, assisting you in finding ways to feel better.
