In my therapy practice, I work with individuals of all ages, including young children, and with families and couples. At our first meeting, you can expect me to listen closely as you tell me about yourself and what brings you to therapy. You might be suffering greatly and be seeking urgently to relieve distress and find hope that things can improve. Or you might feel fine in many ways but want to strengthen your relationships with others, increase understanding of yourself and your behavior, or begin to make better use of your talents and build your creative potential.
Whatever it is you're experiencing, the core of our work together in therapy is to create a relationship that will be truly useful to you. I have many years of experience helping individuals and families address relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression, emotional and physical trauma, and struggles with constructing identity and meaning in life.
Over time, our work together should help you shift towards engaging with all aspects of life more freely, with increasing sense of safety, connectedness, and fulfillment. In my work with young children, I use a play therapy approach and work closely with parents.
