Are you or your teen struggling with addiction, ADHD or trauma-related wounds? Do you struggle with feeling alienated by mainstream culture? I have over 6 years experience treating adolescent and adult clients. My approach is unique due to a background in neuroscience, clinical psychology and social work, so I approach therapy by looking at the brain and social environment influences on behavior. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic in nature with a mix of cognitive behavioral techniques. Personally, I am an avid outdoorsman and believe strongly in the transformative power of spending time in nature.
I specialize in treating trauma and addiction in adults and adolescents. I provide trauma-informed gender- and sexuality-affirming treatment. I am certified in EMDR therapy and Mindfulness Oriented Recovery Enhancement. I am a proponent of mindfulness meditation, and have published extensively on the positive effects of mindfulness on the brain and body.
I know that it can be difficult, given the stigma of mental health, to build up the courage to seek therapy. I hope to provide a safe space for folks of all persuasions to seek shelter from the current turmoil and uncertainty facing our country and the rest of the world. Within this safe space, I hope we can begin a journey for your growth and healing.
