My name is Karen B Hoffmann, and I am a LPC, LCDC, and CCTP-II I work with people from diverse backgrounds including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, life transitions, PTSD, mental health issues, single parenting, grief, and loss. Through a working collaboration, we will identify any unhelpful thought patterns, challenge their validity while increasing healthy coping skills and self-compassion.
Believing that you are more than your circumstances and connecting with your true self is at the heart of my approach. Using a positive, holistic, trauma-informed approach, I incorporate CBT, DBT skills, and Motivational Interviewing, 12 step and SMART recovery experience to help you navigate life challenges successfully.
A first session starts with rapport building, learning more about your story and goals for counseling. Clients typically tell me they feel better after a session, and think of our conversation for days to come. I believe we all hold our own answers and we will explore this in a compassionate, safe, nonjudgemental space.
