Life does not happen in a linear fashion but rather we cycle through different experiences that change how we see ourselves, others, and the world. I work with clients who are struggling to overcome trauma or abuse, whether from specific events or more subtle every day micro-aggressions. I work with clients who are feeling overwhelmed or lost in their many life roles or experiencing distress relating to their cultural identity. Clients that I work with are open to bringing their whole selves (mind/body/spirit) into the space, embracing the natural human process to suffer and love, and hope to feel empowered in the change process.
The approaches that I take with clients all share a common process of identifying beliefs, values, and behaviors that contribute to distress, while also offering compassionate and intentional ways to manage difficult emotions and lean into self-acceptance. My approaches are trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and strength-based.
Wherever you are at today and at each new session, is where we will begin. Your mental health and the counseling process are personal and maintained by a steady, trusting, relationship. I'm honored to connect with you and explore the many aspects of life and identity that are unique to you. I'd love to hear from you. Just send me an email to connect!
