When you think about a better future for yourself, what do you envision? Are you feeling less stressed? Are you more confident? Is your relationship thriving? Are you getting more time to do the things you love? Therapy is a journey to find a path towards those goals. Therapy is an individualized process. Sometimes, we aren’t always aware of the thoughts, beliefs, and situations that prevent us from feeling better or getting our needs met. Other times, we are aware of these things but unsure on how to limit how much they impact us and how we can manage them.
I see therapy as a way to develop a deeper understanding of the patterns that hold you back, get in the way of your goals, and keep you feeling depressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. I utilize a mix of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic approaches. However, I believe that creating a safe and collaborative relationship is the most important.
Outside of being a therapist, I love to cook with my family, kayak, and build legos with my kids. And I love to bring that sense of fun to my therapy sessions.
