My teacher Brene Brown has said, "Owning our story and loving ourselves through the process is the bravest thing we will ever do." As a Psychologist with 35 + years in practice, I continue to study discoveries in neuroscience and human behavior, and while I'm glad of that, what I know is that counseling is about talking through the hard stuff - shame, blame, fear, anger, criticism, grief, forgiveness, and all the rest. Tell me your story in all of its messiness, and let's figure out what's to be done about it. I welcome adults 18 and up struggling with most of what life dishes up. I promise to be candid and compassionate.
I use solution-focused approaches and a bunch of professional experience to help you move through the uncertainty, risk and emotional exposure of getting to the other side of what's trying to mess with you. I am trained in interpersonal, cognitive and lesser known Eastern approaches. I'm a Certified Daring Way facilitator so we'll talk about courage a lot.
I'm into laughter, radical candor, and authentic connection. It's hard to stick to "50 minute sessions," so I don't try. An hour is an hour and sometimes more. Social Justice matters. We need to put our identities on the table, so I work hard to do that. I don't mind sharing the pieces of my own story that could help - divorce, cancer, children, whatever.

Rising Strong - Brene Brown Weekend Retreat
Rising Strong™ A group based on Brene Brown's research where we explore vulnerability, courage, worthiness, anxiety, criticism, forgiveness and more. Through exercises and discussions, we reckon with how our stories shape our thoughts, emotions and actions. How do we get up after a fall and write a new and courageous ending to our stories? The focus is on developing tools for greater resilience and daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead. This group is facilitated as a weekend retreat. If you and friends or colleagues are interested in scheduling a group, contact me for pricing and details.
