My psychodynamically informed practice provides individual, family, and couples therapy. I specialize in working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss, and relationship difficulties. I also have significant training in working with survivors of trauma, whether past or ongoing. My book, "Granddaughters of the Holocaust," examines the impact of trauma across generations. I believe that unspoken, unresolved themes within a family can have a crippling effect on its members.
I received my B.A. in Psychology from Tufts University and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. I completed my clinical training at Bellevue Hospital, Jacobi Medical Center, and Bronx Psychiatric Center, and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Pace University's Counseling Center.
I believe therapy functions on various levels, increasing self-awareness and insight while promoting changes that lead to a more satisfying life. I customize treatment to the uniqueness of the individual, but the core of our working relationship would be a mutual trust, respect, and collaboration to understand your needs and achieve your desired goals.
