It is a challenging experience to find a therapist. It is challenging because you have to be brave enough to seek therapy even though there is stigma, fear, and doubt that you may hear from others or even your own mind that says to not try. To further make it challenging, you may have a lengthier search finding a therapist who fits with you personally after coming up with the courage to even meet with one. So I'd like to thank you for seeking therapy in general and also thank you for allowing me to share some details of my practice so that you might consider us working together.
I believe change happens in therapy through learning and experiencing new ways to respond to challenges in our lives such as emotions, thoughts, pain, family, or spouses. I believe through these new experiences people's relationships with themselves and others deepen and become more driven by their own values and beliefs.
What makes therapy unique with me is my experience and training in specific couples therapy and individual therapy approaches. I have training in various evidenced based approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I have participated in Gottman Method Level 1 and 2 training.
