When you or your child is struggling with anxiety or OCD, it can interfere with daily life and be extremely overwhelming. I offer a supportive environment with practical tools to manage anxiety when it shows up and interrupt patterns that are not helpful. I am a SPACE trained provider and have experience treating children, teens and adults with anxiety disorders. SPACE stands for Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood emotions and it is one of my favorite ways to treat childhood anxiety because it is short in duration and parent focused -meaning parents are the ones engaged in treatment!
As a counselor, I recognize the crucial role that parents and caregivers play in supporting children and teens struggling with anxiety. My approach integrates parents every step of the way, empowering families to acquire new skills and effectively manage anxiety when it arises.
Effective counseling for anxiety involves acquiring and practicing new skills both within and outside of our sessions. While this process may present its challenges, it can also be an enriching and enjoyable experience, fostering connection and growth.
