Welcome to the psychotherapy world! I work in a collaborative and compassionate style to help further understand and address the concerns that led you to search for some relief from the way you are currently feeling. We all try to use the best coping strategies but when excessive worries, valid or not, obsessions, depression or life stress begin to overwhelm these strategies, it is often a time to seek professional help. We work together to conceptualize the problem and provide you with tools to reduce your current distress and facilitate recovery.
I work primarily with patients suffering from panic attacks, obsessive compulsive and other anxiety disorders as well as mood disorders. I use CBT and DBT in my practice. Both modalities help develop new strategies to change old patterns by teaching you to replace self-defeating thoughts, feelings and actions with new and more effective once.
