Open ONLY those who have completed either the MBCT or DBT programs offered at Discovery Counseling and Consulting. Offered the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, this practice group focuses on helping individuals continue their mindfulness practice. Each month a new skill is introduced. Support is provided via Facebook Group, email support, planned readings and structured daily practice plans. To prevent anxiety, depression or stress, it is essential to develop a plan to live consciously. Mindfulness can play an important part in keeping us stable, happy, and healthy. Find that consistency in community!

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
A Mindful Life is an 8-week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course taught to break the cycle of depression, anxiety, anger, and even chronic pain. MBCT is proven to be as effective as medication in preventing depression relapse, and daily mindfulness practice can increase calmness, improve concentration, significantly decrease stress. Developing self-compassion techniques is also an important part of the class. Each teacher practices mindfulness and/or meditation daily, have attended silent meditation retreats, and one has studied in India. Upon completion, course graduates are encouraged to attend a weekly FREE follow-up program.
