My ideal client is someone who has struggled to feel comfortable in their own skin. Someone who has a history of beating themselves up because they cannot live up to their own or others' expectations. I often work with clients who want to learn how to better process their emotions and understand why they do what they do. Many clients have a history of anxiety, depression, or trauma. Whether it's due to harm caused by others, body shame, chronic illness, ADHD, ASD, or anything else, we will work to understand where these thoughts and feelings come from to allow for healing and change.
I see each person as an individual and collaboratively develop a treatment plan just for them. I have two phases in my approach to counselling. The first phase is psychoeducation and providing tools to manage distress. The second phase is understanding & changing patterns of emotion, thinking, & behaviour.
I can't change what has happened in the past, but I can help you change how you hold on to the memories and the beliefs associated with your history. The ultimate goal is to help you heal from whatever has made you feel as if you aren't good enough. To help you better cope with whatever obstacles life throws your way.
